Northeast Kingdom Human Services
Mission
As part of Northeast Kingdom Human Service's (NKHS) overall mission, they provide responsive and efficient community-based, consumer-sensitive, mental health, substance abuse, and developmental services to Northeast Kingdom residents.
NKHS provides these services around the clock through contracts with the State of Vermont, plus they serve schools, businesses and individuals independently of the State.
Serving the Community
A professional staff is dedicated to:
- Helping people recover from devastating mental illness and alcohol and drug abuse
- Helping people with developmental disabilities to lead normal lives
- Helping all service recipients to be contributing members of their communities
Meaningful Employee Recognition
The Patricia L. Rhodes Employee Achievement Award is presented annually to an NKHS employee, who during the past year, has demonstrated creativity, commitment, competence and collegiality in his or her work with service recipients and in relationships with fellow employees. Based entirely on service attributes, this is not a popularity contest. Winners receive a $250 recognition gift and their name will be added to the plaque in the main lobby.
