Vermont Chamber of Commerce
In business since 1912, the Vermont Chamber of Commerce is a private, non-profit business organization with 1,500 members employing 45,000 people. Our membership reflects the diversity of our state as a whole - from the size to the sector of business.
You might not know by looking at our nondescript white building in a corner of Berlin, Vermont, but the Vermont Chamber of Commerce represents 1,500 businesses, a collective voice that can be heard from Newport to Bennington, Vergennes to Groton, over hill and over dale.
The scope of Vermont Chamber activities matches the variety of businesses within Vermont. From the smallest one-person firms to some of the largest corporations in the world, Vermont is home to some of the best workers in the world.
During its history, the Vermont Chamber of Commerce has grown to become the largest state-wide private, non-profit business organization which represents nearly every sector of the state's corporate/hospitality community.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create an economic climate conducive to business growth and the preservation of the Vermont quality of life.
What do we mean by "the Vermont quality of life?" If you live here, you know. If you've visited, you've caught enough of it to want more. And if you've never been here, what is taking you so long?
The Vermont Chamber actively lobbies for the business community at the State House in Montpelier, gives away more than 500,000 publications and guides to educate and attract visitors and tourists, publishes a quarterly newsletter to keep members informed, serves as a conduit between businesses and the media, maintains an international trade program including a full-time office in Shanghai, and houses and works closely with the state's Business and Education partnership.
But what you should really know about the Vermont Chamber of Commerce is that we are here for you.
