We’re looking for a Marketing Coordinator to join our team and help elevate our mission through engaging content and creative outreach. The Marketing Coordinator will report to the Marketing Manager and work closely with the Communications team, Annual Giving Manager, and Donor Engagement Coordinator, gaining hands-on experience in social media strategy, marketing operations, event support, and partnership coordination. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our marketing efforts run smoothly to support progress toward our mission.

This is a part-time, temporary role at 25 hours per week with funding for a nine-month appointment.

Responsibilities/Tasks:

Social Media (50%)

  • Maintain the social media content calendar, ensuring timely posting of videos, articles, and other content across platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) in consultation with the Marketing Manager
  • Execute paid social media plan across social platforms as outlined in the annual marketing plan
  • Monitor engagement metrics and basic analytics and suggest content and copy adjustments for better performance
  • Implement A/B testing on social media campaigns as outlined by the Marketing Manager and report findings to the Communications Team
  • Translate complex or technical content into engaging social media content
  • Utilize video to highlight GMRI programs, our impacts, and staff
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging tools and platforms
  • Monitor and respond to basic social media comments and messages
  • Ensure brand consistency and quality across all social media content

Marketing Operations Support (30%)

  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for all marketing activities
  • Maintain an inventory of tabling and outreach materials
  • Create and update documentation for MarCom processes
  • Perform quality checks on outgoing marketing emails
  • Maintain email list hygiene by monitoring email responses, email update requests, and other digital inquiries in a timely and professional manner

Event & Partnerships Support (20%)

  • Support public events to improve audience reach and awareness in collaboration with the Donor Engagement Coordinator and Marketing Manager
  • Track and monitor next steps with partners
  • Occasionally act as a point of contact for offsite public partnership events, ensuring the GMRI brand is well-represented

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or related role OR degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with data
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Enthusiasm for collaboration

Other Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Adobe Suite or other photo and video editing software
  • Experience with Mailchimp or other CRMs
  • Experience with Asana or other task management tools
